SUBJECT OF INTEREST THE BOY FROM WHEREVER (15′)
ANGELOS PAPADOPOULOS GREECE

Through the scope of application on two bodies in motion we search for the expansion of the concept of the intermediate space. Having as a starting point the determination of a normalcy, random and dynamic, we move forward into a condition able to interrupt it. This condition is the communication between the bodies through the eye contact. The moment of inception of the dialogue unsettles the normalcy creating a discontinuity in the linear perception of the environment and expands time.

With you there is nothing that I have not been; I become what you want. There are things that I would really like to tell you; I escape where you are not there, sometimes I disappear but where I go I think of you. MUCHA MUCHACHA MADRID
ACT 2020 SARIA AWARD PREMIO

Volume 1 takes up some universal dance myths to reinterpret them and see how they are transformed: the murder of a virgin in The Rite of Spring, the firm and strong Haka of the Maori warriors, the collective trance of Ravel’s Bolero, as well as reinterpreting some Spanish pop songs that talk about women. The body is understood between two worlds: the traditional and the contemporary. Volume 1 is a contemporary dance piece, it is a declaration of intentions around movement, community, femininity and ritual.
